Small business has often been described as the engine room of the economy, and play an important role within our society.
In 2019, it was estimated that the small business sector contributed $393 billion to the Australian economy.
Small business accounts for 97% of all Australian business. Of the 2.3 million small businesses, most are owned and operated by sole proprietors.
Legal issues, good or bad, are common everyday occurrences faced by businesses. However, most people do not consult legal advisers and seek to resolve their legal problems outside the formal justice system.
Why is Legal Literacy Important?
The rule of law requires both government and citizens alike to abide by the law.
The rule of law also states that the law should be such that it can be followed by all, no matter what their level of experience or education.

When it comes to business disputes, consulting a lawyer may be prohibitively expensive or disproportionate to the value of a dispute.
